The Observer reports that ‘people in England and Wales could pay a one-off “inheritance levy” of up to £12,000 for long-term care in their old age.’ (14 June)

Publication of Ofsted report Supporting Young Carers (10 June)

The Times highlights the report’s findings that young carers are a ‘forgotten group’ that often go without the support they are entitled to.

The Independent finds that young carers are often punished at school as many not discuss their family circumstances with staff.

The Daily Mail draws attention to Ofsted’s call for more young carers to receive a needs assessment, and thus access appropriate support.
